Foreigners in an irregular situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo have two months to leave the national territory. The ultimatum has just been launched by the Congolese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

This decision is a way for the government to protest against the brutal expulsion of Congolese nationals in Angola on the basis of the principle of reciprocity.

Let us recall that several thousand Congolese living illegally in Angola have been repressed under conditions deplored by several human rights NGOs.

In opposition this measure of the Congolese government is welcomed by some actors.

For Toussaint Alonga, the time granted to foreign nationals is long.

He believes that the measure should apply first to Angolans living in an irregular situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Toussaint Alonga denounced the degrading treatment inflicted Congolese citizens recurrently by the Congolese authorities.
