Member of the Libyan Parliament for Benghazi Jalal Al-Shuwihdi has accused militias affiliated with Libyan General Khalifa Haftar of kidnappings and the enforced disappearances in Benghazi, Derna and the Oil Crescent.

Al-Shuwihdi posted on Facebook that there is no army in Benghazi on an institutional basis, but rather security militias which abort any political solution to the Libyan crisis that do not conform with Haftar’s vision.

Haftar has not been working to create the right conditions to guarantee the freedom of elections in the eastern region, Al-Shuwihdi said, adding that he had aborted the Skhirat agreement and violated the Paris Declaration.

He concluded by saying that Haftar works to disrupt all that does not serve his personal interest through his politicians and parliamentarians who praise him.
