Burkina Faso’s Government Prohibits Children from Selling on Streets

Child_laborBurkina Faso”s government announced today the ban on children under 16 years of selling any kind of products on the streets of the urban centers of this African country.

The measure protects children ‘against the many dangers of the street and guarantees a healthy education,’ the Ministry of National Solidarity said in a statement.

The text warns of severe punitive measures against possible offenders.

Authorities of the Ministry of the Family initiated a control operation on street children and young people in different situations, who are beggars very often, with 4,226 registered cases.
